New Officers Named to ACOG Boards and Committees

Officers for fiscal year 2011 have been named and will lead the Association in the next year as it considers mobility, public safety and quality of life issues that impact Central Oklahoma.

Kathy McMillan, Councilmember, Moore, has been named Chair of the ACOG Board of Directors and the Intermodal Transportation Policy Committee. Sam Bowman, Oklahoma City Councilmember, will continue to serve as Vice-Chair of the board. Willa Johnson, Oklahoma County Commissioner, District 1, will serve as Secretary-Treasurer.

The 9-1-1 Association of Central Oklahoma Governments has also recommended new officers to be confirmed at the June 24 meeting. Ken Bartlett, Del City Councilmember, has been nominated to Chair. Rachel Butler, Norman Councilmember, is projected to serve as Vice-Chair. David Dirkschneider, Warr Acres Councilmember, has been nominated to Secretary/Treasurer. The 9-1-1 Association was formed to implement and manage the emergency number system for communities in the Central Oklahoma region.

Finally, the Garber-Wellington Policy Committee elected officers, including Chairman Jim Pumphrey, Mayor of Nicoma Park; Elizabeth Waner, Edmond Councilmember as Vice-Chair, and Mark Sharpton, Logan County Commissioner as Secretary/Treasurer. The Garber-Wellington Policy Committee works on policy and issues that impact Central Oklahoma’s aquifer, surface water and water systems.
