Please RSVP for the ACOG Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant WorkshopMonday, July 19th, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The Blue Room at Chesapeake Energy Campus
What is your vision for the future of the Central Oklahoma region?
• Does it include more transportation choices?
• Plenty of equitable, affordable housing?
• A better and stronger economy?
• Healthy, safe and walkable communities and neighborhoods?
• A thriving local food system?
Significant federal funding is currently available to create a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development.
The program places a priority on investing in partnerships, and bringing multiple voices to the regional planning process.
Our region will be competing for a minimum grant of $500,000 in order to develop a comprehensive Regional Plan for Sustainable Development, which will serve as a guide for local, regional, and state government policies and investments.
The goals of the plan would include such required outcomes as:
• Creation of regional transportation, housing, water, and air quality plans that are deeply aligned and tied to local comprehensive land use and capital investment plans.
• Increased participation and decision-making in developing and implementing a long range vision for the region by all populations.
• Reduced social and economic disparities for low-income, minority communities, and other disadvantaged populations within the region.
• Decrease in overall combined housing and transportation costs per household.
Your involvement is critical for a successful application from our region!
More information (and parking details) will be sent after registration, so you can begin preparing for the workshop.
If you cannot attend, please forward this email to someone you know.
