CENTRAL OKLAHOMA CLEAN CITIES COALITION UNVEILS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM RECIPIENTS

The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) has been awarded grant funding for two U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Vehicle Technology Office Clean Cities University Workforce Development Program (CCUWDP) Interns for the Fall 2023 – Summer 2024 semesters.

CCUWDP is an initiative of Clean Cities, a government-industry partnership sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Program. The Clean Cities Coalition Network of 75 Coalitions fosters the nation’s economic, environmental, and energy security by working locally to advance affordable, domestic transportation fuels, energy efficient mobility systems, and other fuel-saving technologies and practices.

The students selected for the internship will work with ACOG and the Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Coalition to advance efficient, clean air, and clean transportation technologies and strategies.

Another goal of the program is to attract and retain new Oklahoma professionals pursuing a career in public service, particularly those interested in emerging transportation opportunities.

Fall 2023 – Summer 2024 Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Interns

Judith Anima Ntim is a graduate student pursuing her master’s degree in Regional and City Planning at the University of Oklahoma, where she is a graduate research assistant as well. She earned her bachelor’s degree in B.Sc. Development Planning at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Ghana. Judith continues from a summer internship term which included work on a transportation sector greenhouse gas inventory, workplace charging research, and other clean transportation planning.

Madison Martin is a business major at Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC), passionate about the outdoors, looking to pursue environmental sustainability career opportunities.

About Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Coalition:

The Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Coalition has been hosted by ACOG since 1996. Since 2018, the Coalition has saved 16 million gallons of fuel and reduced over 120,000 tons of greenhouse gases. Past Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Interns have gone on to work for Tesla, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the City of Edmond, the City of Newcastle, and the Northern Oklahoma Development Authority (NODA).
