ACOG is Helping Businesses Become Bicycle Friendly with the Creation of the Bicycle Friendly Business Guide
Did you know bicycle friendly businesses have major potential to impact their communities socially and economically? By providing access to bicycle riders, businesses cater to a whole new customer base. Many bike friendly businesses could see an increase in foot traffic and an increase in revenue. Not only does the possibility of patronage increase, but these businesses play a major role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in their communities.
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments has created the Bicycle Friendly Business Guide to help local businesses who are interested in reaping the benefits of bike friendly practices. The guide goes into detail in several areas where businesses can cater to bicyclists, including bike friendly parking, relevant amenities, and useful policies. This guide also describes how to apply for the Bicycle Friendly Business designation from the League of American Bicyclists.
