The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) and Watch for Me OK are hosting Bicycle Commuting 101 webinars this September. This free educational web series will cover everything you need to know about bicycle commuting in Central Oklahoma. Hear from seasoned bicycle commuters and experts about how to travel as a bicyclist. This 4-part series will include information about how to get started, how to change a flat tire, how to adjust your bike, how to pick a route, how to pair with transit, and how to commute as a parent.
Session 1 – Getting Started

This session will cover what you need to know before you start commuting by bike. This includes what type of bikes are best, how to dress, bicycle security, and best safety practices.
Session 2 – The Perfect Route

In this session, presenters will go over the different types of bicycle facilities, how to pick a good route to bike, and how to navigate transit.
Session 3 – Basics of Bicycle Maintenance

This session will cover the basics of bicycle maintenance, such as the names of different bike parts, what to include in a bicycle repair kit, and how to change a flat tire.
Session 4 – Commuting as a Parent

In this episode, we will cover the benefits of commuting by bike as a parent, the main hurdles and how to overcome them, different types of cargo bikes, and teaching road safety to kids.
