Healthy Air – Important for Everyone
Air Quality Awareness Week
Daniel Castaneda, ACOG Clean Cities Intern
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) along with other air quality leaders across the state and nation are excited to celebrate Air Quality Awareness Week (AQAW) on May 3-7, 2021. This year’s awareness week theme is “Healthy Air – Important for Everyone.” AQAW hopes to raise awareness about the crucial role of air quality for the health of people and our planet.
ACOG issues Ozone Alerts when air pollution is expected to reach unhealthy levels. Central Oklahomans can text ‘OZONE’ to 81257 or can sign up for email alerts here.
Ozone Alerts protect public health. On Ozone Alert days, all Central Oklahomans can take actions like limiting vehicle engine run-times and avoiding outdoor burning to protect the health of their family, friends, and neighbors.
Follow @ACOGOK on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram throughout ozone season for more info on clean air action!
