Funding Opportunities for Central Oklahoma Schools

Oklahoma Alternative Fuel School Bus Program

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) has released a request for proposal (RFP) for the Oklahoma Alternative Fuel School bus program. This program will be funded by the Volkswagen State Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund. The total funding will be 4.1 million. School buses with engine model year 2009 or older may be repowered with a new alternative fuel engine or replaced with a new alternative fuel school bus.

Eligible fuels include all-electric, hybrid-electric, CNG, LNG and LPG/propane.

The cost for electric infrastructure and its installation are eligible for funding, but are subject to a per-charger maximum and the total project cap. Infrastructure for other fuels will not be covered.

Funding will be in the form of reimbursement. All projects are subject to a total project reimbursement cap and per item reimbursement cap.
