Get Plugged In: Central Oklahoma Celebrates National Drive Electric Week

The Association of Central Oklahoma (ACOG) will celebrate National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) by providing Oklahomans interested in driving an Electric Vehicle (EV), an opportunity to test drive (certain models only) and ask questions to those that drive an EV every day.

Current EV drivers will offer ride and drives in different electric car models at two Drive Electric events held in Oklahoma City and Mustang on Saturday, October 1, 2022.

The Drive Electric Event at Automobile Alley, 1125 N. Broadway Ave., Oklahoma City on October 1, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. will feature electric vehicle test drives and more.  Further information about the event can be found here

The Drive Electric Event in Mustang, at 1501N. Mustang Rd. on October 1 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. will feature electric vehicle test drives and more. Further information about the event can be found here

“Oklahoma had the fastest growing electric vehicle sales in 2021, we’re No. 3 in the U.S. per capita for public EV charging, and there’s $66 million coming to the state from the Federal Infrastructure Bill for continued expansion of the charging network,” said Eric Pollard, Air Quality & Clean Cities Manager for the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG). “Driving electric is a good option for many Central Oklahomans looking to save money on transportation costs and reduce air pollution.”

NDEW is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today’s widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more.
