The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) is nearing completion of a study on future transit opportunities for the Central Oklahoma region.
The commuter corridors study, known as CentralOK!go, is the next step in the federal planning process for evaluating the feasibility of a regional transit system. This study will provide more in-depth analysis and information concerning an alignment, technology, ridership forecasts, estimated costs, and potential funding sources for each of the three corridors being studied.
CentralOK!go began in early 2013 and is scheduled to be completed this summer. With input from local communities and stakeholders, we are identifying options for moving people throughout the region.
Over the past year, some of the most valuable feedback has come from the public. During the month of May, ACOG staff and our Project Team will be available throughout the region looking for the public’s final input on the study. The public engagement schedule is a different philosophy for us, and we hope that the experiment will be fruitful. Instead of having a series of open houses or formal meetings, we are trying to get out to a broader audience by attending a variety of different outdoor and family-focused events. Look for us under a tent or at a table and help us shape our transit future!
Here is the projected schedule. Weather permitting, we hope to see you at these events:
