O’Connor has been appointed Director of Transportation & Planning Services.   O’Connor returns to his native Oklahoma City from Kansas City, where he served for the past five years as Director of Planning & Special Services for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), the regional transit authority for the Kansas City metropolitan area.

As ACOG’s Director of Transportation & Planning Services, O’Connor will lead the Central Oklahoma metropolitan planning organization’s team in the development of the region’s multi-modal 2040 transportation plan.   His experience restructuring KCATA’s bus route network and planning bus rapid transit routes will be assets in advancing discussion of regional transit in Central Oklahoma.

After receiving a Masters of Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma, O’Connor began his career as a long-range planner in ACOG’s Transportation & Planning Services division. His familiarity with the ACOG regional transportation programs and his transit planning expertise will enhance ACOG’s efforts to best serve its member local governments and constituencies across Central Oklahoma.
