[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2mDTugikTY]This week is United Way week at ACOG. We have served the United Way of Central Oklahoma over the past 15 years as a Pacesetter organization. Pacesetters set the “pace” for the fall campaign, which starts after Labor Day in September. ACOG has had one of the highest giving rates per capita (per employee) in recent years.
This year, our theme was a cruise ship (the S.S. ACOG). For our Monday morning icebreaker, I pulled out an idea that I learned from a conference, and asked everyone to tear the shape of something out of a piece of paper, as it is held behind the back. In keeping with the theme, one side of the room had to tackle the shape of a seahorse, while the other side addressed a trickier palm tree.
In the video, look at Andrea Weckmueller-Behringer, one of our transportation program coordinators. She’s in the blue shirt on the left. As soon as I give out the assignment, she closes her eyes to “visualize” and concentrate on her creation. The technique must work, because she won the competition!
For over 80 years, the United Way of Central Oklahoma has been working to create a better life for everyone in our region. To learn more, visit www.unitedwayokc.org. Check back next week for more hilarious videos as we wrap up the week.
